Globe Trip Itinerary
Leave Westbrook at 9:30
11 am Canyon Lake (take 88 off Hwy 60) stopping for pictures one we turn off 60 (Wild in Arizona says the flowers out there are the best they have been in years. I called the Ranger District and they told me this is a permit area; however our senior passes will serve as the Tonto Pass so be sure to bring yours and display it on your dash. If no one in your car has a senior pass purchase a Tonto Pass $5 in Mesa.) 2 miles past Canyon Lake (more flowers) is Tortilla Flats, lunch there!
Back track towards Superior pulling off for shots as we see them. There is a dirt parking area 4-5 miles this side of Superior on the South side of the road where you will see (from the road) an old windmill, there are some interesting things to shoot there. (May be the Picket Post Trail turn off)
IF WE HAVE TIME – Continue through Globe on Hwy 70 PAST the Casino a few miles to Peridot Mesa. I’ve seen recent shots of the Poppies blanketing the hills and valleys there.
